Safety Guidelines

At Blue Iris Farm, we take the safety of our visitors, staff, and animals very seriously. All visitors are expected to follow these guidelines at all times.

Follow Animal Safety Protocols

All visitors are expected to follow animal safety protocols provided by our staff. This includes but is not limited to washing hands before and after interacting with animals, refraining from feeding animals without permission, and following any additional safety instructions provided by our staff.

Wear Appropriate Footwear

Closed-toe shoes are required for all visitors to our farm. Sandals, flip-flops, or any other type of open-toe footwear are not permitted. This requirement is strictly enforced for the safety of all guests on farm terrain and around animals.

Respect Designated Areas & Walkways

All visitors are expected to remain within designated visitor areas and follow all posted signs and staff instructions at all times. This includes:

  • Staying on designated walkways and paths at all times.
  • Not entering animal enclosures, pens, or restricted areas under any circumstances unless explicitly directed by staff.
  • Keeping a safe distance from farm equipment, machinery, and storage areas.
  • Following all posted signage regarding restricted zones, feeding areas, and animal interaction spaces.

Compliance with these boundaries is essential for the safety of guests and the wellbeing of our animals. Guests who enter restricted areas or disregard posted signage will be asked to leave immediately.

Use Caution Around Animals

Visitors are expected to use caution when interacting with animals and to follow any instructions provided by our staff. Visitors should not approach animals without permission and should not attempt to pet or touch animals without first asking for permission and receiving instructions on safe handling.

Supervise Children

Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children at all times while visiting our farm. Children should not be left unattended or allowed to wander off on their own. Children must remain with their adult guardian or designated group leader at all times.

Follow Emergency Procedures

In the event of an emergency, all visitors should follow instructions provided by our staff and evacuate the area immediately if instructed to do so. Visitors should be familiar with the location of emergency exits and first aid kits. Please ask a staff member upon arrival if you have any questions about emergency procedures.

Report Injuries or Incidents

Visitors who are injured or witness an incident should report it immediately to a member of our staff. All incidents will be documented and investigated as necessary. Do not attempt to treat injuries or move injured persons without staff guidance.

Enforcement

Adherence to these Safety Guidelines is a condition of entry to Blue Iris Farm. Failure to comply with any safety guideline — including remaining within designated areas, following staff instructions, respecting animal enclosures, and staying on designated walkways — will result in immediate removal from the property.

Blue Iris Farm reserves the right to revoke access without refund for any visitor who poses a safety risk to themselves, other guests, staff, or animals. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe environment for everyone.

Questions

If you have any questions or concerns about these guidelines, please do not hesitate to ask a member of our staff for clarification. We are happy to help ensure your visit is safe and enjoyable.
